Tiqets in Palma: reviews, cancellation and what it sells

Is Tiqets legit? Yes: it is a Dutch ticketing platform with a good rating, and we use it as an alternative for the cathedral, Palma Aquarium and Palma's sightseeing bus, where its prices are in line with the official ones. For a boat trip around the bay it has little on offer, and its cancellation policy is stricter than GetYourGuide's.

What Tiqets is and who runs it

Tiqets is an Amsterdam booking platform (Tiqets International B.V.) focused on tickets for museums, monuments and attractions. Like GetYourGuide, it acts as an intermediary: it sells the ticket, but it is the cathedral, the aquarium or the bus company that lets you in.

What Tiqets sells in Palma de Mallorca

The most-bought ticket in Palma is entry to Mallorca Cathedral, followed by Palma Aquarium and the City Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus. It also has the Almudaina.

For boats, its Mallorca catalogue has around 14 trips: a 3-hour dolphin trip from Palma, a dolphin catamaran from Paguera, the Sóller train with the boat to Sa Calobra, the sightseeing bus with a boat trip, and a sailing trip to Es Trenc. Prices: Tiqets vs the official ticket office

Tiqets comes out well here. The aquarium ticket costs from €30.50, the same as the official adult fare, and the cathedral from €11, a euro more than the official €10.

Tiqets sells the sightseeing bus from €27 against around €31 on the City Sightseeing website, and the bus-and-boat combo from €46. The boat part of the combo lasts 50 minutes, runs from April to November and does not operate on Sundays.

Cancellation and refunds

This is what is most worth reading before you pay. On Tiqets you can only cancel if the product description says so. Leisure tickets with a fixed date and time carry no right of withdrawal, so a timed aquarium ticket may be non-refundable. Where cancellation is allowed, you can request a refund up to 28 days after the ticket date.

Customer service

According to its terms, the support channel is a help centre open 24 hours at support.tiqets.com. It is not a phone line, so for a problem at the cathedral door expect to write in and wait for a reply.

What travellers say

When we checked, Tiqets had 4.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 61,528 reviews, and only 7 % one-star. Recurring complaints mention guided-tour groups larger than advertised, difficult refunds and poor-quality audio guides. For a simple ticket such as the aquarium or the cathedral, almost none of that applies.

When to book direct instead of on Tiqets

• Cathedral with terraces: the official €25 ticket including the terrace climb is sold in 30-minute slots with limited places; look for it in the cathedral's official shop.
• Residents and children at the cathedral: the discounts only exist at the ticket office.
• Aquarium in the afternoon: Palma Aquarium currently takes 15 % off slots after 14:00, for visits until 31 October; check its website. Balearic residents only pay €20 per adult.
• Boats: for catamarans, dolphins and sunset trips, GetYourGuide has a much bigger range and free cancellation up to 24 h before by default.

Alternatives to Tiqets
