Our Attraction Catamarans review in short: buffet and DJ on a very large boat, with every drink extra and a cancellation policy stricter than its neighbours'. For a day out with friends it works; for families or a quiet cove, compare first.

Who Attraction Catamarans are

The brand is Attraction Catamarans and the company is Mallorca Sailing Catamarans S.L., based in Palma. The office is at Avinguda Gabriel Roca 13 and you board at the Muelle de las Golondrinas, opposite the Auditòrium, the same quay as Magic Catamarans and Oasis, which are separate companies.

It does not sail from Palmanova: if you are staying there or in Magaluf, you will need to come into Palma or book the hotel transfer, which costs €30 extra per person.

It has two catamarans, Attraction and Inspiration. The Sea Day boat measures 24 × 12 m and carries up to 145 passengers plus crew. That is a big boat for the bay: Magic Catamarans caps its Plus version at 35 people and the Oasis Blue carries 22 at most.

What it offers: Sea Day, sunset and Es Trenc

Trip Times Adult price Children Includes
Sea Day 10:00–15:00 €85 6–12: €75; 0–5 free Buffet, DJ, swim at Cala Blava
Sunset 17:00–21:00 €85 6–12: €85; 0–5 free Buffet dinner, swim at Cala Blava, DJ on the way back
Full day to Es Trenc 09:00–19:00 €200 Long day towards the south of the island
Private charter 5 or 7 h On request Whole boat

Sea Day. It heads south-east, towards Cala Vella, and anchors at Cala Blava for swimming and snorkelling. The buffet is by Catering La Sal: samosas, salads, wraps, mini burgers, tikka skewers and brownie. There is a DJ. The VIP Bali pack, with a Balinese daybed for two, costs €300. The listing is on attractioncatamarans.com.

Sunset. The same swim at Cala Blava, a buffet dinner and a DJ on the way back. The listing says €85, but when we checked, the home page showed a low-season offer banner ("was €75, now €60") without saying which dates it applies to. Check the final price when you book.

Es Trenc. Attraction advertises a full day from 09:00 to 19:00 for €200 on its website. Bear in mind that no boat can land on Es Trenc beach: ask when you book where it stops and what the swim is like. Every option is in boat trip to Es Trenc.

Prices: the ticket and what you pay on board

The €85 price includes no drinks at all. Attraction publishes its bar menu, something Barca Samba, for example, does not do:

Drink Price
Water €2
Soft drink €3
Beer €4–5
Glass of cava €5
Glass of sangria €10
Aperol €12
Cocktail €15

Two beers, a water and a soft drink add about €15 per person on a 5-hour trip; two cocktails, €30. On Magic Catamarans, for €59, soft drinks and water are included all day, and sangria and wine come with the meal. The real difference between the two can exceed €40 per person.

Platforms such as GetYourGuide list "luxury catamarans with food and DJ" from Palma at similar prices. They don't always say which company runs them:

What travellers say

Attraction shows 518 Google reviews on its website. One recent review complains of an overcrowded boat, a single swim stop when two were expected and skewers that did not go round everyone. The mallorca.com directory, for its part, warns of bookings in the past that were not honoured because the boat was used for a private event.

These are typical complaints for a 145-seat boat. If you are booking for an important date, confirm by phone or email a couple of days before.

How to book and cancel

The cancellation terms are stricter than those of its direct competitors:

  • Free up to 2 days before departure.
  • Up to 24 h before, only if you took the €5 per person insurance.
  • Changing the date without insurance costs €30 per person.

Magic, Oasis, Barca Samba and Life & Sea all allow free cancellation up to 24 h before. With the embat, the afternoon sea breeze that whips up waves in the bay, the 48-hour deadline forces you to decide on a less reliable forecast: if you get seasick, the €5 insurance is worth it. More in weather for boat trips.

How to get to the boarding point

  1. Go to the Paseo Marítimo, Muelle de las Golondrinas, opposite Palma's Auditòrium.
  2. Arrive at least 10 minutes before departure.
  3. Parking in the area is difficult: better to take a taxi or walk from the centre.
  4. Bring a card or cash for the bar.
