Life and Sea Mallorca reviews fit what the company sells: simple, cheap trips from S'Arenal and Can Pastilla, with no journey into Palma's port. If you are staying in Playa de Palma or El Arenal, it is the most practical option in the area; if you want a catamaran with drinks included or a small, quiet boat, there are better alternatives.

What Life & Sea offers

Life & Sea Mallorca S.L. has three bases: S'Arenal, Can Pastilla and Colònia de Sant Jordi. Its website is lifeandsea.com; the old lifeandseamallorca.com redirects there with a certificate warning. From the bay it sells four things:

  • Catamaran: a 2-hour trip without food or a 4-hour trip with a barbecue, plus a sunset version.
  • Dolphins: 3 hours, with a swim in a cove at the end.
  • Longer trips: Cabrera in a day and a boat "taxi" to Es Trenc.
  • Water toys: jet skis (25 minutes from €80) and parasailing at €65 per group of 2 or 3 people, covered in jet skis and parasailing.

Its catamaran listings do not name any coves. The trips with a set destination, Illetes and Cabo Blanco (Cap Blanc), are separate products on another boat: 3 hours for €45.

Life & Sea prices: direct and on booking platforms

These are the adult prices on its website when we checked:

The barbecue comes with one drink: beer, sangria or water. You cannot bring your own drinks and every extra one is paid for; on Magic Catamarans, by contrast, soft drinks are included all day and sangria and wine come with the meal.

Dolphins, Cabrera and Es Trenc from S'Arenal

Dolphins at sunrise. It is the only dolphin trip in the bay at 06:00 (S'Arenal); there are others at 09:15 and 12:45, and at 09:30 from Can Pastilla. The company talks about "very high" chances, with no guarantee. By law (RD 1727/2007), the boat may not chase or encircle them. Bring a jacket at sunrise. We compare this option with Palma Cruises in our guide to dolphin watching in Mallorca.

Cabrera in a day. It leaves at 10:00 from Can Pastilla and at 10:15 from S'Arenal, and returns at around 18:15 and 18:30. It runs past Cap Rocat, Cabo Blanco, Cala Pi and Es Trenc, lands on Cabrera and, on the way back, stops at the Cova Blava (Blue Cave). That is a lot of hours on a boat; if you have a car, the crossing from Colònia de Sant Jordi is much shorter. Cabrera castle is closed inside for safety reasons; we explain this in our guide to trips to Cabrera.

Es Trenc by boat. The €40 "beach taxi" does not drop you on the beach: it lands in the harbour of Colònia de Sant Jordi, and from there it is about a 20-minute walk to the sand. You have free time from roughly 11:45 to 16:45 and head back at around 18:15 (Can Pastilla) or 18:30 (S'Arenal). More options in boat trip to Es Trenc.

Where to board: S'Arenal and Can Pastilla

The S'Arenal office is on Calle Balneario, at the end of the beach, next to the Club Nàutic S'Arenal: you reach it across the sand, not through the club entrance. When you look up the address, note that the club is in the municipality of Llucmajor, not Palma. In Can Pastilla you board at the entrance to the sailing club (Carrer de les Nanses 7).

How to get to the boarding point

  1. By bus: lines 31, 32, 35 or A2 to the "Cala Estancia" stop, then a 5-minute walk to the Can Pastilla sailing club.
  2. By car to S'Arenal: the company recommends parking in the Son Veri Nou area.
  3. Arrive 15 minutes before departure.
  4. If you use a wheelchair, let them know in advance: boarding in S'Arenal is from the beach and is not adapted.

The coast between the Club Nàutic S'Arenal and Cap de Regana is a marine reserve, with regulated anchoring in some coves. Our guide to boat trips from El Arenal covers it.

What the terms say (and why it matters for reviews)

Before reading reviews, check what you agree to when you book: it explains many of the typical complaints about boats in the bay.

  • The skipper decides. He can refuse a passenger for safety reasons: age, pregnancy, disability or build. If in doubt, ask before you pay.
  • Changes for weather or breakdowns. The terms distinguish two cases: if weather or a breakdown forces a change to the trip, they say there is no compensation; if the company cancels because of bad weather or too few bookings, they say it refunds what you paid. If your plan is changed, ask which of the two cases applies.
  • Card surcharge. Online payment carries a 2.5% fee.

In the afternoon the embat, the south-westerly sea breeze, whips up waves: if you get seasick, the 10:00 trip is usually calmer. More in weather for boat trips.

How to book and cancel

You book on its website, product by product. According to its terms, cancellation is free up to 24 h before; after that there is no refund. Balearic law bans party boats with alcohol and music from picking up passengers in S'Arenal: these are excursions, not parties. If you want a DJ, look at the party boats.

Alternatives to Life & Sea

Where does Life and Sea leave from in El Arenal?

How much is the Life and Sea catamaran?

€40 for the 2-hour trip without food, €65 for the 4-hour trip with a barbecue and one drink, and €75 for the 3-hour sunset trip. Children aged 3 to 12 pay half.

No. It talks about very high chances, but there is no guarantee. The trip costs €80 (children €70) and there is one at 06:00, at sunrise.

Can you go to Cabrera with Life and Sea from Palma?

Yes, it is the only Cabrera trip that leaves from the bay: €90, from 10:00 to about 18:30, from Can Pastilla or S'Arenal, with a landing on the island.
