If you are looking for flamenco in Palma de Mallorca, the short answer is Tablao Flamenco Alma: it opened in March 2024 next to Plaça d'Espanya and is the only dedicated tablao (flamenco venue) in the city. An hour of live dance, song and guitar, with a drink included and three shows a day.

What no longer exists is the big Son Amar dinner show that appeared in every guidebook. And if what you want is a dinner-and-show night for the whole family, the big option is in Magaluf and it is not flamenco: Pirates Adventure. Here is what you need to know about both.

Tablao Flamenco Alma: the flamenco show in Palma

The tablao is at Av. de Portugal 5, on the ground floor, between Plaça d'Espanya and Passeig de Mallorca. It was founded by a guitarist from Córdoba and the artists rotate: they come from Andalusia, Madrid and Barcelona, so the line-up changes from week to week.

The format is a classic tablao: a small room, the stage a few metres away and a one-hour show of dance, song and guitar. They bill themselves as "the first flamenco tablao in Palma"; either way, today it is the only dedicated tablao in the city.

Show times: which one to choose

There are shows every day at 17:30, 19:30 and 21:30.

  • 17:30: the best fit for children and for cruise passengers who have to be back on board in the evening. You finish at 18:30 with time for an unhurried dinner.
  • 19:30: a good balance; you are out at 20:30, which is dinner time in Spain.
  • 21:30: the most popular and the first to sell out. If you want this one, book several days ahead, especially in high season.

Arrive 15 minutes early. The tablao asks guests to dress smartly: no need for a suit, but don't turn up in swimwear and flip-flops straight from the beach.

Flamenco prices in Palma: tickets and seating areas

The tablao sells two kinds of ticket:

  • Standard: show + one drink.
  • Premium: show + drink + tapas (Iberian ham, Mahón cheese and Cantabrian anchovies).

Inside the room there are seating areas: VIP (front row), Category 1 (zone A) and Standard (zones B to D). In a small room the difference matters less than in a theatre, but from the front row you see the footwork up close.

On GetYourGuide tickets start from €35, rated 4.6 out of 5 from more than 1,600 reviews (read our GetYourGuide review if you have not used it). There is also a version with paella from €72, with fewer reviews (4.1). The exact price depends on the ticket type and seating area, so check it when you pick a date. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Accessibility and languages

The room is wheelchair accessible. Front-of-house staff speak Spanish, English and German. Flamenco needs no translation: there is no script to follow, just music and dance.

All the show and contact details are on the tablao's website.

Son Amar: closed to the public

Son Amar, in Bunyola, was for years Mallorca's big dinner show. It closed in April 2025: all shows were cancelled and around 150 people lost their jobs. Today it only hosts private and corporate events, with no public dinner shows and no announced plans to bring them back.

Pirates Adventure in Magaluf: the big dinner show

If you want an evening with dinner and a show for the whole family, the go-to today is Pirates Adventure, in Magaluf (Calvià municipality), about 20–30 minutes from Palma. It is not flamenco: it is a pirate show with acrobatics on a 12-metre galleon, in English, and it has been running since 1986.

  • What's included: a roast chicken and chips dinner with soft drinks, plus the show. Aimed at ages 2 to 90.
  • Price: the official website advertises prices from €24.99; on GetYourGuide the ticket with dinner starts from €59.99 (4.6 out of 5 from more than 1,000 reviews). Compare what each price includes before you choose.
  • Seats: allocated on arrival. Choosing your seat costs from €7.50 per person and is only possible when booking direct. There are VIP and VVIP categories.
  • Season: at the moment, at the end of the season, there are only a few nights a week, at 18:00. Check the calendar on the official website before planning your evening.

Address: Camí de Sa Porrassa 12, Magaluf. To get there, the show sells coach transfers from most areas (some routes are limited at the start and end of the season). If you are making your own way, a taxi costs around €6 from Magaluf, €8 from Palmanova and €14 from Santa Ponça; the TIB 104 bus (Magaluf–Palma) and the 123 (Santa Ponça–Cas Català) stop outside. By car: exit 14 of the Ma-1, with free parking. All of this is in their FAQs.

For adults, the same company runs Pirates Reloaded (an adults-only version) and Gringos (bingo with a party, over-18s).

What to expect from a flamenco night

A tablao show is short and intense. It usually alternates solo guitar, song and dance, and the audience sits very close to the stage. Worth knowing beforehand:

  • Silence during the singing: this is not a gig to chat through. If you are a group out for a party, a party boat is a better bet.
  • Drink included, dinner not: the standard ticket includes one drink; if you want something to eat, take the premium ticket with tapas or have dinner afterwards.
  • Children: the 17:30 show is the easiest. For young children who tire quickly, Pirates Adventure is a better fit.

How to fit flamenco into your day in Palma

The tablao is a short walk from Plaça d'Espanya, which is a stop on the hop-on hop-off bus and the starting point of the Sóller train. A plan that works: Sóller in the morning, back by train in the afternoon and flamenco at 19:30.

If you want a boat trip and flamenco on the same day, think about sunset times: in late June the sun sets around 21:20. A summer sunset cruise clashes with the 21:30 show, so book the 17:30 one before the boat. In spring and autumn, with earlier sunsets, you can do the boat and then the 21:30 show.

For the rest of the day, see the guide to things to do in Palma, and if you go in the morning, the Cathedral opens Monday to Saturday.

How to book flamenco in Palma

  1. Choose your show: 17:30 with children or on a cruise, 21:30 for the late-night atmosphere (and book early, because it sells out).
  2. Decide between a standard ticket (with a drink) or premium (with tapas).
  3. Book on GetYourGuide to see the price for your date; you have free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
  4. Arrive at Av. de Portugal 5 a quarter of an hour early, not in beachwear.
